She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Texas. She then completed her Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

This San Antonio OBGYN received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She stayed in the city for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her residency, Ilanna Loeffel MD completed the Felix Rutledge Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, a one-month rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Loeffel pursued research experiences during medical school and residency, exploring aspects of everything from laparoscopic surgery to ovarian and cervical cancer. In 2017, this motivated physician received the Ryan Resident Scholarship to pursue additional training in family planning.

Dr. Loeffel has certification in the da Vinci System for robotic gynecologic surgery and certification in Nexplanon insertion and removal.

Dr. Loeffel is highly knowledgeable in what she does. She explains everything and actively listens to your concerns and questions. She met with me before the surgery and explained everything step by step. That meant we were both ready for the big day. It didn't seem that enough time was spent in checking my insurance. This was the first time I was told that my visit was not in the category than Medicare covers. I Medicare and Tricare for life. The toilet seat was practically coming off the commode. I did notify the Dr. The doctor, herself is amazing!! She's attentive and detailed. The place doesn't look clean. There were quite a few employees on the phone.
