She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Texas. She then completed her Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

This San Antonio OBGYN received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She stayed in the city for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her residency, Ilanna Loeffel MD completed the Felix Rutledge Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, a one-month rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Loeffel pursued research experiences during medical school and residency, exploring aspects of everything from laparoscopic surgery to ovarian and cervical cancer. She was the chief resident from 2018 to 2019. She also received the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, this motivated physician received the Ryan Resident Scholarship to pursue additional training in family planning.

Dr. Loeffel has certification in the da Vinci System for robotic gynecologic surgery and certification in Nexplanon insertion and removal.

Obstetrical (Pregnancy) Ultrasound / Sonogram

I absolutely love Dr. Loeffel. She is an amazing human and dr. Truly appreciate her honesty, her compassion, and her support through my first pregnancy and then through my follow up care. She is knowledgeable and really listens to my concerns. I don’t love that the office seems to be a bit chaotic every time I go. The staff are taking blood pressure and weight readings in a corner in a busy hallway that is in the way of anyone walking around. The restrooms are well stocked, but usually seem to be a bit dirty. Urine samples are done in open cups and there have been times I’ve had to take a sample outside of the restroom to find someone to give it to as the usual receptacle was full. Which I found to be a bit unsanitary. I absolutely love Dr. Loeffel. I said this in another comment, but she is truly someone that I feel comfortable with and trust. I truly appreciate her compassion, her knowledge, and her ability to relate to patients. It’s like having a very skilled dr. as a best friend and I mean that in the most positive way.
