Menopause
Menopause is a natural phase in your life as a woman. Transitioning to this stage will usually happen in your late 40s and early 50s. You will also generally experience menopause after a total hysterectomy.

You may be concerned about the symptoms you are experiencing during perimenopause and during menopause itself, but you can rest assured that a UWH of Texas provider will address those concerns thoughtfully and with the utmost care for your health and well-being. We will answer your questions and help you manage your symptoms so that you can stress less about the changes your body is going through during this phase in your life.
Perimenopause is the beginning of your transition, occurring several years before your final menstrual period. You may start to experience changes in your menstrual cycle, as well as hot flashes and other changes in your body during perimenopause.
During this time, your ovaries will stop releasing eggs and produce much less estrogen. As you enter the menopause stage, you may also experience night sweats, a need to urinate frequently, vaginal dryness, and changes in your emotional state throughout each day.
The transition to the post-menopause stage will be different for every woman. It may take years for the menopause symptoms to ease and then to stop completely. Your UWH of Texas OB/GYN professional will guide you through symptom management and treatment options so you can feel more comfortable as you go through these phases.
