Elisa Carroll MD earned her medical degree from the Catholic University of The Sacred Heart School of Medicine in Rome, Italy. She then completed a fellowship program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1995.

Then, Dr. Carroll successfully completed the residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1999. During her residency, she was named the chief obstetrics and gynecology resident for the 1998-1999 academic year. She credits her education and training with helping her become the highly respected San Antonio OBGYN she is today.

This San Antonio OBGYN believes it is important to stay current on the latest developments in women’s healthcare. As a result, Dr. Carroll is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Bexar County Medical Society. Membership in these groups allows Dr. Carroll to continue providing her patients with the most-effective and advanced women’s healthcare.

When she isn’t helping her patients achieve their best health, Dr. Carroll enjoys spending time with her spouse and two stepchildren. She speaks fluent English, Spanish and Italian.

My doctor is very knowledgeable and kind. Despite that, it feels like each visit is rushed and that she is under pressure to be on a tight schedule. I really don’t like the policy of Well woman exam- there can be no other issues or you will get charged extra. I am a whole person, not just one issue.

Dr. Carroll was pleasant and prompt. My appointment with her was actually better than satisfactory. However, some of the support staff I find to be less than personable. Upon leaving the room after my exam, it wasn’t clear where I should go next. Someone at the internal desk gruffly told me to grab my file and wait in the line for checkout. That step isn’t apparent when one leaves the room, and it would have been nice if there was kind communication to help. This was my second appt in this office, and I remember a similar experience at the first appt. It leaves me with the desire to have my experience with Dr. Carroll, but not with the staff (not all were rude…but a negative encounter with one or two people unfortunately sours the entire experience).
