What Contraception Options Are Available?

The right contraception for you should support your reproductive health and well-being as well as your family planning goals. Your needs will likely change throughout your lifetime, which is why our providers are here to discuss several birth control methods with you like:

  • Hormonal Birth Control
    Hormonal birth control methods, such as the pill, patch, or ring, use hormones to prevent pregnancy by regulating your menstrual cycle and ovulation.
  • Long-Term Birth Control
    Long-term options, like IUDs and implants, offer reliable pregnancy protection for several years at a time without the need for daily maintenance. There are both hormonal and non-hormonal options for this method.

Talk to Your Provider About Postpartum Birth Control

After giving birth, you'll need information about contraception options. Ideally, you should wait at least 18 months before trying to become pregnant again to allow your body time to heal. You may need to space pregnancies even further depending on your unique family and medical situation.

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful after I had arrived from Houston for my appointment & was initially told that my insurance was no longer accepted & my annual well woman would not be covered. After making some calls, my insurance was accepted and I was able to proceed with the exam for which I was scheduled. This saved lots of money and lots of time, and I was provided with a referral for a doctor in my current city (where I recently moved). Dr. Troy is a wonderful doctor. He is professional and takes time to listen to your concerns. He is compassionate and takes time with your medical needs. The staff are great too. They’re quick with documents, referrals, and prescriptions. The front office reception ladies are solid! . They’re kind and meet you with kindness. I have been a patient for several years and now my daughter is too. She likes him above ALL doctors she has seen as well. She says he has “the best bedside manner. He is attentive and listens to me.” Checking out is meh. Just saying. Those ladies are like toads.
