Dr. Joyner earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology at Southern Methodist University, then went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She then completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Personal Life & Family

Dr. DiSarro is awesome! She was very personable and patient. I was getting a 'pellet' for hormones and she was gentle and even made me laugh. (the shot is not very fun or comfortable). Great bedside manner and didn't rush through the appt.

I had never seen Dena before, and she didn’t even ask anything to get to know me or learn about my pain. She just jumped straight into her treatment recommendation with no history. And the longer we talked, the more I realized she had made the wrong assumptions about my history, like she had never even read my chart. It was very disconcerting, and I left feeling like I had more questions than I came in with.

My only complaint would be the wait time. I sat on the end of the exam table for 35 minutes waiting for the doctor to see me.. my visit with Dr. Stamatis was very informative and I felt I had his undivided attention.
