Annual Well Woman Exam

The wait was 30 minutes - which is the longest time I've ever waited at this office (plus, I arrived early). The most concerning issue of all was the fact that Dr. Taylor scolded me for wanting to complete bloodwork during the "Well Woman" checkup. I was shocked that she demeaned and even argued with me, about not having a PCP. (I technically have gone to a PCP during Covid, however, with good labs and immune system, follow-up wasn't needed.) She explained that she has other responsibilities (surgeries, knowing each patients history, few others I can't remember) and my care, beyond a routine pap smear (and mammography) is not within her capacity. I complained of experiencing heart palpitations (crying before my period, increased anxiety, strange cycles) and my lab results came through today *without* the lipid panel. Why was the lipid panel not taken? I've been going to OBGYN since Kyler Elwell - and we've always completed a full blood checkup. She was very upset that she had to order any labs. She said that was the last time she would do so. I've never experienced this response before from a women's health doctor. I started crying. I blamed my hormones - because I'm in the luteal phase and perimenopause (unconfirmed because I guess there's not test for this?) - but I was also actually distraught by her response. I wish the entire interaction was recorded - I believe it needs to be addressed. Moving forward - I'm going to find another practitioner - one that can handle comprehensive women's health issues. My complaints in the past (2022) regarding hot flashes were dismissed so I was happy that she provided a resolution to my new issues at this visit (once her rant ended), progesterone. However, now that my glucose is higher than usual (typically, A1C is 5.7) - I'm concerned how progesterone will affect that - thus, I sent her a message today. Lastly, my blood draw was painful. I have a hematoma with considerable bruising. It's very painful today. However, the phlebotomist was kind, funny, and cheerful. I've never had a worse experience at any doctor's office than I had yesterday in all of my years. I'm grateful this opportunity to provide feedback.
