Laura grew up in San Antonio, Texas and Hoover, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her graduate degree at the University of South Alabama. She returned back to Texas in 2016 and worked in Austin as a Labor and Delivery nurse where she met Dr. Thoppil and Dr. Shepherd. Laura joined the River Place team as a nurse in 2018 and is excited to continue working as a Nurse Practitioner caring for patients and continuing to build relationships. In her free time, she enjoys watching LSU football, running, and spending time with friends.

My appointment did not start on time. I enjoy the staff and experience and knowledge of my doctor, but I would appreciate my appointment starting on time. I tend to wait at least 30 mins past my scheduled time before I’m seen or called to the back from the waiting room. It can be frustrating because I work and with drive time, usually have to take 3 hours off for my appt.
