Jami Barnard MD enjoys working as a San Antonio OBGYN because she can truly make a difference in the life of each patient who steps into her office. She is passionate about helping women live their best and healthiest life at every age and stage. As a Heights Obstetrics and Gynecology provider, Dr. Barnard takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and develop a treatment plan to help them feel their best.

Jami Barnard MD earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. She then earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso.

Dr. Barnard is a licensed OBGYN who twice received the “Outstanding Teaching Resident” award and has been a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society since 2012.

An active volunteer in the community, Dr. Barnard’s interests include educating women on preventive healthcare, providing care at various health fairs and clinics and instructing childbirth education classes. She is a junior fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the author of multiple publications on a wide range of women’s health issues.

Dr. Barnard enjoys exploring San Antonio with her husband and daughter. Her hobbies include backpacking, traveling and spending time outdoors.

As usual, my annual exam by Dr. Barnard was pleasant and thorough. This year however, I did have some important questions about some symptoms I had been experiencing that I wanted to talk over with her. I was worried that with all of the patients waiting she wouldn't have enough time to really listen, but she gave me all of the time that I needed to talk about what I was experiencing. She asked good, important questions and gave me choices about how to proceed. I left feeling very validated.

This is an excellent clinic and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Even when I call in for questions about my medication or something, they are very thorough and ensure that I understand everything. During my visit the other day, the staff was very kind and there was not a very long wait time at all. I appreciate how helpful all the staff is at every point of the patient visit. I recommend this clinic to others all the time.

Lab Work

Get to my appointment early and on time because if I’m late or miss it get fined. Then I have to wait 45mins just to get moved to waiting inside. Then wait 10 more mins to get moved to a room. Once in the room waiting another 10-15mins for the doctor. I just don’t understand the point in making an appointment if you’re going to wait more than an hour for the doctor and if I’m late I get fined? I love the doctors and the nurses and staff. Honestly would give a 5 star but the waiting is a hassle specially when I use my lunch to make my appointment.
