Jami Barnard MD enjoys working as a San Antonio OBGYN because she can truly make a difference in the life of each patient who steps into her office. She is passionate about helping women live their best and healthiest life at every age and stage. As a Heights Obstetrics and Gynecology provider, Dr. Barnard takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and develop a treatment plan to help them feel their best.

Jami Barnard MD earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. She then earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso.

Dr. Barnard is a licensed OBGYN who twice received the “Outstanding Teaching Resident” award and has been a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society since 2012.

An active volunteer in the community, Dr. Barnard’s interests include educating women on preventive healthcare, providing care at various health fairs and clinics and instructing childbirth education classes. She is a junior fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the author of multiple publications on a wide range of women’s health issues.

Dr. Barnard enjoys exploring San Antonio with her husband and daughter. Her hobbies include backpacking, traveling and spending time outdoors.

Dr. B always knows what I need as a treatment to help me get back on track with my health. Dr. Barnard understands the my needs. what I need and is very thorough knowledgeable Dr. that knows what is going on with my health. She is kind and is willing to help me with medication that I can afford by suggesting locations that meds may cost lower for me. I highly recommend her to anyone she is motivating towards my health and how to get better. Always friendly and always ready to hear what the problems I may have and always has a friendly smile. The staff was kind, polite, courteous… Dr Barnard was amazing! She answered all my questions and offered real sustainable advice and very compassionate about my weight concerns. Pap Smear

Long wait time in examining room. (1 hour). Urine specimen collected in unsanitary manner, it was collected in paper cup with no lid. There paper cups stacked in restroom along with a sharpie to write my name on cup. It had to be taken by me back to the examining room and was left there with no cover during my visit time. I felt my examination was rushed and a lot of discussion went on about my limited medical coverage in the near future during my examination as opposed to addressing my concerns about my previous exam being abnormal and my overall health.

Doctor was clear on what was going to happen. The only reason I wasn't highly satisfied is that I had to wait one hour after my appointment time to for the procedure to occur.

Dr. Barnard always does an incredible job of explaining anything I have questions on and making me feel heard. Thankful to have an OBGYN that I can feel comfortable with and trust especially in a day in age where it can feel that it's difficult to trust doctors about your body as a female
