Education

Undergraduate School: University of Colorado

started her midwifery career in Denver and is excited to bring her experience back home to Midland this Fall. She has a range of experience from hospital to community birth. Regardless of the setting, she is passionate in supporting normal physiologic birth. She loves partnering with families throughout their journey of childbearing, birthing and beyond. She desires every family to feel confident and empowered throughout the process. Whether it’s your first or fifth baby, every pregnancy and birth is a unique experience that changes you forever. The mind-body-spirit connection of birth is what initially drew Betsy to become a midwife. It is truly a transformative experience, and a magnificent-yet-normal life process.

Betsy has been a Certified Nurse Midwife for 5 years and a nurse for 11 years. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a DNP and MSN focused in midwifery. She is also a certified lactation consultant and loves helping women meet their breastfeeding goals. When she’s not catching babies or talking your ear off about birth and breastfeeding, she enjoys gardening, being outside in nature and spending time with her husband and son. She looks forward to getting to know you and being a part of your birth day!

Annual Well Woman Exam

I’d give 10 stars if I could. The care from the provider and nurses were amazing. My visit was painless, I felt heard and all of my concerns were addressed. Thank you. Betsy is highly knowledgeable and trustworthy. I felt very safe in her care and I also felt heard. I am grateful that she is a part of MWC!

Betsy was wonderful. She never made us feel rushed and really took the time to get to know us personally as clients. She answered all of our questions but also let us know that if we would prefer to go with our regular ob instead of midwife that was absolutely ok. We didn't feel pressured rather we felt very comfortable. She was highly recommended to us and we would recommend her as well.

I was almost turned away at check in due to having medicaid. I called ahead to and was told to go a head and keep my appt. However, at check in, I was told "we don't accept this" without even checking. Had I not pushed the issue further, I wouldn't have been seen that day.

Skin Infections

Betsy has been a blessing to me personally and professionally. From the initial introduction, we felt very comfortable with her. She’s very knowledgeable in her field and extremely supportive in all aspects. Her presence before, during and post labor, gave me a relaxing feeling. Betsy encouraged us to have the birth plan that we wanted (VBAC) and provided all the information for this birth plan. During labor, Betsy helped us physically to bare through the contractions and reach down emotionally and self motivate when the tough got going. Proud to say that I did not self medicate and Betsy, along with my husband, and doula were a huge part in that. Also she helped our son to be born in the difficult conditions that he came to the world. After going through a rough time with our son in the NICU, Betsy kept in contact and provided whatever assistance my husband and I needed. She also helped with lactation advices. Thank you Betsy for everything you’ve done. From everyone in my family that got along with you, we all give you the biggest hug! Betsy has been a blessing to me personally and professionally.
