Dr. April Mikes is an independent member of the medical staff of Medical City Weatherford. Dr. Mikes received her medical school education from University of North Texas Health Science Center-TCOM, in Fort Worth, Texas. Her obstetrics and gynecology residency was completed at John Peter Smith Health Network also in Fort Worth. She joined Weatherford OB/GYN on August 15, 2017.

Dr. Mikes is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Mikes offers the full scope of women’s healthcare including reproductive health, prenatal care, obstetrical ultrasound, contraceptive counseling, urodynamic testing and preventative counseling. She has a particular interest in gynecological surgery.

Dr. Mikes is great. Kind, thorough, knowledgeable, listens. The front desk is another story. I cannot get in touch with anyone. I call, the voicemail is full. 3 times the week prior to the appointment this happened. The 4th call I was actually able to leave a message - one week prior to the appointment. No one ever called back. When I finally got in touch with someone (the day before the appt) I mentioned how difficult it was to contact them. She said “we only have 6 lines and it’s busy”. They were not too busy to collect my money when I came in for the appointment and no one was on the phone…

When I call for an appointment or have questions no office suppory picks up the phone. It goes to voicemail and it does not matter what time of day I call. I called so many times! Also, I completed the required paper online and I still had to do it again when I physically came in for my appointment. What is the point of this? Wasting my time re-doing the paperwork.
