Dr. Alyson Buick Pico received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Austin College, and attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine) in Fort Worth, TX.

She completed her residency training in Macon, Georgia at Mercer University School of Medicine where she received awards from the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine for Excellence in Obstetrics, AAGL for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology, and the Obstetrics & Gynecology Resident Research Day Award.

Dr. Pico has a special interest in high risk obstetrics, as well as vaginal and urogynecologic surgery. A Sherman native, Dr. Pico and her husband Josh have one daughter, Austen, and two dogs, Gauge a loving great dane, and Lexi a devoted Weimaraner.

Dr. Pico listened to my concerns about having a breech baby and was willing to do what I wanted to help me have the birth I preferred, vaginal. She expressed her own concerns and helped me make a plan for the ideal outcome. She also trusted my judgement in regards to my previous experience with pregnancy.

The wait time was a little long is the only reason it wasn't a 5. However, once Dr. Pico began my visit, I understand better. In this day of medicine for profit, Dr. Pico doesn't approach her patients with the bottom line in mind. She is caring, concerned, and happy to answer all questions. She is special. I appreciate having her on my wellness team. I also appreciate the new office. However the Febreeze deodorizer is too much for a chemically sensitive person. Please consider a more natural alternative. Essential oils perhaps?
