My name is Monique Renee’ Dixon. I’ve been practicing as a Registered Nurse for 12 years, of which nine of those years were exclusive to Labor and Delivery, Nursery, and Mother-Baby, the other 3 years have been in the Operating Room as a circulator nurse, while maintaining PRN in the Maternal Child world. I have Certifications in Inpatient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.

I graduated from Frontier Master’s Program with a Nurse Midwifery concentration on March 22/2022. Nurse midwifery is not popular in my home state of Louisiana, but it is growing. Therefore, I started a blog to help expedite the growing process through knowledge, education, and experience about all things WOMEN’S HEALTH. www.mothemidwife.com Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and closest friends.

I have one 8 year old daughter, Victoria Queen, who loves dance and gymnastics. She watch and mimic everything I do. She motivates me constantly to put my best foot forward and be the best I can be at all times.

Lab Work

I called with a possible UTI infection and was scheduled for an appointment that afternoon. When I checked in, I was immediately instructed to provide a sample of urine, then wait to be seen. This was very efficient use of time for all of us. By the time I was called back they had already looked at my sample and determined I indeed had some type of infection. The PA also reviewed my history and asked questions about my current status, showing an informed and caring person. The Rx was sent in before I left the office and I was told that if the culture showed any need for additional medication, she would send the Rx to my current location since I was going on vacation the following week. I was able to pick up the Rx on my way home. The visit was seamless, efficient and made me feel that the people working there really cared about me personally. I have had a lot of UTIs in my lifetime, and this was one of the best experiences I have had.
