Dr. Heather Derrick is a board certified OB/GYN at Craig Ranch OB/GYN in McKinney, Texas, serving patients in the greater Dallas area. Dr. Derrick was raised in Chicago before she relocated to South Texas. She attended college and medical school at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She then went on to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. After relocating to the McKinney area, she started practicing at Craig Ranch OB/GYN, where she has remained since 2008. She married in 2012 and currently resides in McKinney with her husband and their children. Lab Work

I called with a possible UTI infection and was scheduled for an appointment that afternoon. When I checked in, I was immediately instructed to provide a sample of urine, then wait to be seen. This was very efficient use of time for all of us. By the time I was called back they had already looked at my sample and determined I indeed had some type of infection. The PA also reviewed my history and asked questions about my current status, showing an informed and caring person. The Rx was sent in before I left the office and I was told that if the culture showed any need for additional medication, she would send the Rx to my current location since I was going on vacation the following week. I was able to pick up the Rx on my way home. The visit was seamless, efficient and made me feel that the people working there really cared about me personally. I have had a lot of UTIs in my lifetime, and this was one of the best experiences I have had.
