In 1994, Dr. Chandrasekhara earned her Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Chemistry and Biology at Houston Baptist University. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1998. Next, Dr. Chandrasekhara completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Allegheny University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Then, she returned back home to Houston to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2000-2003 at the University of Texas in Houston.

I had an exceptional experience at this OBGYN office. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was warm, professional, and efficient with check-in. The waiting area was clean, calm, and welcoming, which immediately put me at ease. The medical assistant who brought me in was kind and respectful, making sure I felt comfortable before the doctor arrived. Dr. Shimer was outstanding — attentive, patient, and genuinely compassionate. She took the time to listen to all of my concerns, answered every question without rushing, and explained everything clearly, including my options for treatment and preventative care.
