About Michael Cowart, MD
After 20 years of practice, Dr. Cowart enjoys mutual respect and the warm admiration of his patients. Patients span every age group and they appreciate his friendly caring manner and his serious respect for professionalism. Doctor Cowart takes time with his patients and strives to get to know each one. He is a rare and special physician.
Doctor Cowart is proud of his deep southern heritage, but like so many, he got to Texas as soon as he could. Born in Alabama, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated with Highest Honors in Clinical Audiology. From there he entered the Aviation Officer Candidate program and was designated United States Naval Aviator, serving as a plane commander and instructor pilot for 10 years.
Following medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, he completed a prestigious residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, and entered private practice in the eastern metroplex. His medical training was strengthened by an additional 4 years in the United States Army Medical Corp. His military aviation experience and medical training have afforded him the opportunity to visit and serve all over the world.
He is married to his longtime sweetheart, Beth, who serves the practice as Dr Cowart’s office manager, confidant, and advisor. They have three adult children and one grand son. Oh yes, and they love caring for women of all ages.
