She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). Since 2011, Dr. Fay has taken great pride in her work at the Caring Center for Women. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), TriCounty Medical Society, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). Whether she is delivering babies or performing life-saving surgeries, Dr. Fay has medical privileges at many local medical facilities, including the Central Texas Medical Center and Resolute Health Hospital. In addition, Dr. Fay serves as the medical director for Family Planning Clinics in Hays County since 2011, and as the department chair of the OBGYN department at Central Texas Medical Center since 2016.

I waited almost an hour in the exam room before Dr. Fay came in. This has happened every time I’ve seen her. If patients respect your time, you owe it to them to respect their’s. I also felt a bit dismissed by the conversation with Dr. Fay. She has a rather rushed way of having a conversation when she knows that she’s the expert and has another appointment to get to. I like to ask questions so I can learn, better understand my situation, and advocate for myself. When I speak to Dr. Fay, I feel like I’m being brushed aside and my questions and concerns are just chalked up to a canned response that doesn’t actually help me. It’s frustrating, especially when patients have to wait months and months to see her. I’ll put it this way: anytime she gives me input or advice, I consult other people online. It’s difficult to trust her judgement on my health when she breezes through our appointments and exams. I already mentioned this prior in this survey, but I felt very dismissed by Dr. Fay when I saw her. In my most recent appointment, I would be in the process of explaining my symptoms and changes only for her to interrupt me and tell me that it’s XYZ, or “normal”, or whatever. I wouldn’t even be done explaining what I’ve been experiencing. It made me feel like I had to rush and articulate everything before she butted in to explain to me all the ways I’m wrong before she’s able to even hear what I have to say. I waited eight months for this routine appointment. That said, her verbal demeanor is very dominant and tends to lean toward patronizing. Valid questions are met with a response that resembles an adult speaking to a child. By this point, it should be clear that none of this sits well with me as a patient. Her bedside manner could be improved. I scheduled this appointment to better understand and learn about my situation so that I can better advocate for my health. I left the appointment feeling cast aside and like it was a waste of time. This is why people avoid consulting doctors for preventative care. We’re nothing but a revolving door so that Dr. Fay can rush to her next appointment that she, unsurprisingly, is also probably 55 minutes late for.
