Patient Reviews

Overall patient rating for Dana Wicker:

Annual Well Woman Exam

My time in the waiting room was minimal and the team at the front desk were very warm and welcoming. My visit with Dana was informative as usual. She is always so thorough and kind. Her bedside manner is unmatched. She talks you through the entire visit and is reassuring throughout.

Weight Loss / Management

Overall the approach of the program has been just good but not great. I think it would be beneficial to treat it similar to the allergy treatment offered by your office. For example on the first day of treatment it would be better to hand to the patient a printed list of important information that needs to be covered. This way none of the important information will be overlooked. Also, it would be good to be weight using the in house scale on every appointment. Lastly, I was told my card had been denied 2 months in a row. I was told they tried to contact me through phone call. This method clearly didn’t work and no other methods were attempted. Using a secondary option like email or text message would be a good thing so the patient doesn’t fall behind on the payments.

Mammogram

I usually see Dr. Thoppil at the Austin location but this time I had to see Dana Wicker, WHNP-BC regarding the Cancer Genetic Testing. Both of the providers are excellent and I am so glad to have them.

Mammogram

Quick but thorough

Annual Well Woman Exam

friendly staff, quick visit but didn't feel rushed

Annual Well Woman Exam

I appreciated the care and attention the NP and assistant gave me during my exam. They acknowledged my concerns from previous exams and provided an option that helped me complete my exam without as much anxiety and pain. Getting a pap smear done can be painful and cause a lot of anxiety, but this was the fastest and least uncomfortable I've felt having it done. I don't think it will ever be painless, but this was a great experience, and I am relieved to finally find a provider who has options to help people get necessary exams done in a way that is respectful and relatively quick.

Office Visit / Follow-up

Short wait times and Dr. is thorough and caring.

Annual Well Woman Exam

Dana said I could opt out of the pelvic exam if I was not having any problems. No one had ever asked me that before. I did want to opt out of it. So I appreciated that Dana offered that option. And I talked to her about my concerns about breast cancer. So I completed the genetics survey and gave blood for a genetics test. I do wish that insurance would let me have a 3D mammogram now though, instead of waiting until I turn 35 in a few months.

Horrible bedside manner, she talks AT you instead of to you, if you have different beliefs or opinions she makes it very known she doesn’t agree. She criticized my surgeons and drs from a highly prestigious cancer center that people travel from all over the world to get care from. I have never left any practice or annual wellness exam in tears until I saw Dana wicker. She acts as if she knows everything, and if that were the case, she would be more than just a nurse. She honestly needs to stay in her lane and learn to talk to women from all walks of life, regardless if their way of life is different than hers. Also, if someone doesn’t want to take birth control, don’t push an IUD and tell them you don’t think they are a good candidate for surgery when you know nothing about them. Please have her take some extra classes before she continues to speak on things she knows little to nothing about.

Everybody who helped me, from check-in to intake and to the exam were very kind. It was also very fast. Dr. Wicker seems to care a lot about her job and asked how I was doing/feeling mentally and physically and if there were any concerns. She gave advice or solutions for those concerns.
